On Thursday’s NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams was dismissive of reports that the newly-elected president of Iran might have been a ringleader in the seizure of the U.S. embassy and 52 American hostages in 1979. He asked correspondent Andrea Mitchell: “What would it all matter if proven true? Someone brought up today the first several U.S. presidents were certainly revolutionaries and might have been called terrorists at the time by the British crown, after all.”
