Answer(s)

Several groups share responsibility for the current crisis (many homes are going into foreclosure):
1) The federal government, which chose to ignore the large number of risky loans banks were offering and the potential it had for economic crisis.
2) Greedy bankers, who gave loans to people who could not afford them.
3) The irresponsible home owners themselves, who took huge risks by taking loans they potentially could not afford to repay.
