“More than a third of adults do not know what an oxymoron is and a fifth have forgotten how to work out fractions or percentages, a survey has found,” London’s Independent reports, citing a new YouGov survey of the British.

Is it really that alarming if 5% of people don’t know how to do fractions and percentages? We’re going to be an optimist and look at the glass as half full.
