“I thought we would have them both on New Year’s Eve.
I just always assumed twins were born one right after the other.”

Twins Beckett and Freya were born six hours apart.

Stephanie Peterson of Minnesota gave birth to twins – one born in 2011 and the other born almost six hours later in 2012 at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) in Minneapolis.

“They were each on their own schedule,” Peterson said, adding that she’s excited they will get to celebrate birthdays on different days.

Son Beckett was the last baby born in 2011 at HCMC at 6:40 p.m. Saturday. He weighed 4 pounds, 11 ounces and is 18 inches long.  His sister Freya was born Sunday at 12:26 a.m. She weighed 5 pounds and 2-1/2 ounces and is 18 inches long.
